Righteous Becomes The Third Different GTR Winner
With three races down Austra Racing's
Righteous has joined the illustrious list of race winners in the GTR2006 series after a shortened Kyoto National event.
Starting behind pole sitter ReppohC, Righteous got a great start and flew through to take the lead, where he was unchallenged for the 36 laps that the race lasted until the server unexpectedly crashed.
“After turn one I just got into a great rhythm and was getting great lap after lap, really happy,” explained Righteous.
However the race hit a major shake up, when entering into the second turn on the opening lap, Gizmo attempted a late pass under brakes on ReppohC, with the two making contact and completely reshuffling the Division A order.

ReppohC however was able to make his way back through the field into second place before the server crashed, ahead of Premium Racing Team teammate StanDaam. Gizmo had also fought hard and regained many places to finish up in sixth position in an FZR dominated race.
“After a big pile up on the first corner I was forced pretty far down the order but from then on I had some good fun picking off the whole AR team and driving back to second place,” said ReppohC.
It certainly took a degree of time but the FXR under the guidance of
Flappa finally scored a race win in
Division B. After starting third on the grid, Flappa held out Tassie to win by five seconds with OzBee-Racing's Threeps only one second away.
Division C was unfortunately the other race affected by the server outage but after 39 completed laps, Austra Racing's
plague had absolutely dominated the race leading every single lap. Durrie who came from eighth and Kwijibo rounded out the podium positions.
Russell was too strong in
Division D and lead all bar five laps on his way to a comfortable victory over Funkdancer's XRR who gradually had somebloke closing their gap on his way to third.

After three action packed rounds the top five drivers are: Gizmo (299), ReppohC (295), StanDaam (294), Righteous (291) & Shaun (288).
The top five teams are: Austra Racing (288), Premium Racing Team (260), Middle Pack Racing (248), OzBee-Racing (219) & Filthy Minds Racing (193).
Round four of the AAL's GTR2006 series changes format to two smaller sprint races, which also includes a reverse grid race on
August 9 at Fern Bay Gold.
