About Us

AAL_History_1Created in 2003 in association with the LFS Endurance League, The AustralAsian League (AAL) was born. With a massive amount of support from The LFS Endurance League’s administrators, Thd and Admkirk, Carl Rickard (Cutter) now had the available infrastructure to host our initial races and get this great league up onto its feet.  For that, we are forever grateful for their help.

Currently the AAL is run by Cutter and Todd Baker(pixelboy), along with a great Admin team: J_Luo, Somebloke, CLP, Sarsippius, Shonky and SE1Z.

The primary aim of the AAL is to provide regular clean competitive racing for everyone in the AustralAsian region (Australia, New Zealand & South East Asia).

The History

AAL kicked off with a large ten round MRT series, which introduced racers to frighteningly close racing around Blackwood, Fern Bay and South City.  Racers were left with some fantastic memories as they were immediately hooked on organised league racing.

The GTi Hot Hatch series was some of the most competitive competition many AAL racers can say they have ever competed in.  Chaz, a new racer from Southern Cross Racing (SCR) burst onto the scene after dominating the series.  Unfortunately for Chaz he was denied victory in the final race after he disconnected, handing the series win over to teammate Rotary (or Rots as we all know him now).

The next series on the list was the Triple Turbo Trio series where all racers had to race one of the three vehicles (FXO, GTT & RB4) at least once.  Chaz dominated the series and proved that he was one of the best Live For Speed racers in Australia.  SCR completed a whitewash of the podium with Scottie and Latch rounding out the top three.

AAL_History_5This brought the league towards the end of 2004 and with S2 assumed to be released shortly, an S1 Finale race was held.  Fern Bay Black played host to the race with a massive 50 laps to be completed.  Racers were encouraged to choose any car of their choice as each car had been allocated a place in one of three divisions.  The winner of each division would enter a final showdown.

Again it was an SCR whitewash with Rots taking out the GTi/GT division, Chaz the fastest of the TBO’s and Scottie took out the MRT5/LX6 group.  The handicap final showdown race at Fern Bay Black between the three great drivers was one of the most exciting spectacles ever seen in Live For Speed.  Rots led the way and was through the chicane before Chaz was released.  Scottie followed and they all drove on the limit around the 6.6 km Fern Bay Black circuit.

As they approached the final chicane (above) they were neck and neck.  They came onto the start finish line side by side and the power of the FXO got Chaz across the line first.  It was quite appropriate that Chaz should win what was thought to be the end to S1.  He proved himself as the man to beat in Australia.

The AAL now enters a new chapter with the arrival of S2 and with more racers competing, will anyone from Pacifica Racing, Oceanic Racing Team, Premium Racing Team or an independent have the answer to SCR’s dominance.

See you on the track. – AAL Admin Team.
